Neurotoxin Myths…Busted
→ It will give me a “frozen” or expressionless look.
FACT: A “frozen” look is due to overdosing. Discuss with your injector the proper amount of units based on your goals.
→ I won’t have any more wrinkles.
FACT: There are 2 types of wrinkles [static & dynamic]. Static lines are present at rest & dynamic lines are present with facial movement. While neurotoxin can improve both types of wrinkles, you may need additional treatments for static lines [such as filler or PDO threads].
→ My wrinkles will get worse if I stop getting injections.
FACT: If you decide to stop or pause treatment, your wrinkles will gradually return with repeated facial movement. Neurotoxin will NOT make it worse & you will NOT age 5 years as soon as it wears off.
→ Injections are painful.
FACT: The needle gauge used is so small, that discomfort is very minimal. [Pro tip: pair it with a VI Peel & get the added bonus of a numbing effect from the chemical peel].
→ Neurotoxins are permanent.
FACT: Results typically last 3-4 months.
→ Once I start, I won’t be able to stop.
FACT: Neurotoxins have NO addictive properties. People keep doing it because it makes them look younger & feel confident.
→ Neurotoxins & Filler are the same thing.
FACT: These are 2 completely different products. They can be used together or separately. Neurotoxins treat dynamic lines; Filler treats static lines, sagging skin, & other age related concerns.
